This has been the most complicated assignment for me during the Intro to Fabrication class. We had to make anything using two materials besides plywood and acrylic. I guess the hard part for me was that I did not have an idea until very late that week so when I decided what would I like to do, I just did not have the time to achieved. Time management, I should have learned this after my first project in this class when I had the same problem.
Anyways, this is part of the documentation on my failure assignment.
First, the idea was to used papers I painted for one of my ICM assignments. The idea was to laser cut them with the same shape but every time a little bit smaller. So after putting them all together it would create a new image composed by all of the other images.
I didn't laser cut the papers because I wasn't sure if I could cut papers with acrylic painting on it.
The idea for the base was to use a block of wood and saw small lines to hold the papers. After testing this I did not like the outcome so I got lost on how to finish this piece.
Finally, I came up with the idea of using the same block but painted black and use the paper as a sculptured object.
